This just in: journalists getting surprise proposals has become a trend.
Texas anchor Alexa Williams of KWES became the latest of the fourth estate to take a big public step toward holy matrimony. When reading a script for a pre-recorded segment on July 4, she unknowingly gave an introduction to her own proposal: "An Odessa woman is about to get the surprise of her life, and eventually a last name."
Shortly after, boyfriend Wayne Dunson entered with roses and a ring. Naturally, Williams said yes.
"Working on the 4th of July turned into the best day of my life," she wrote on Facebook.
The proposal is certainly sweet, but it's not exactly a groundbreaking development. In June, a Canadian newspaper reporter investigated mystery signs with hearts springing up around town and discovered that they led to a surprise proposal from her boyfriend in a park.

Newsflash: She said yes, too.
