Wedding - I'll Love You Forever, And I'll Always Mean It

I'll Love You Forever, And I'll Always Mean It

This was their favorite shot from their wedding. There’s a long story behind it but what matters is that this is private property that I actually asked permission (on the spot) to photograph. This is the same property that has this barn dip shot. The owner invited us to use his gazebo which shows the friendliness of the mid-west. Here in California this would NEVER happen. I got a call today from the lady that runs the Photography division at the Ventura County Fair asking if I would consider hosting a photography event at the fair this year. Basically there has been a lot of interest in photography in the county and the director of the Photography Dept. wants me to host a panel discussion open to the public to discuss technology & trends in digital photography. This is a great honor and almost a little uncomfortable since I’m still entering the contest as an amateur. Last year I had complaints about me entering as an amateur both on Flickr as well as directly to the Photog dept too. I made sure from the director herself that since I don’t make my livelihood with photography that I’m still considered an amateur, and will only submit photos I took for fun. I was going to enter as a pro this year, but they are no longer hosting a pro division. And I also found out I’m going to be going up against some of the students I teach in my Park & Rec class. It would be such an honor to see them win! No deep diatribe today, but I just can’t get this song out of my head. It’s going head-to-head with my favorite from last week You’ll thank me. Or hate me.
