When you throw a destination wedding at Instagram-worthy The Parker Palm Springs, you're definitely not afraid of a little color! Inspired by the palm print and bubblegum pink of another iconic California venue, The Beverly Hills Hotel, this is a seriously fun affair. The pops of bright coral, fuchsia and deep red in the bride's bouquet are just the start! Wait until you see the incredible floral garlands at their ceremony (conducted by the couple's best friends!), the Moroccan lanterns strung between the palm trees for the reception, and their custom wedding hashtag signage overlooking the dance floor - in neon pink, of course!

Why did you choose this location for your wedding? We got married at The Parker Palm Springs. Our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were held in three different locations on the grounds. Palm Springs holds a special place in our heart and our main focus was to create an amazing weekend rather than just one evening for our family and friends. We were very focused on ensuring our guests felt special because without their love and support we wouldn't be there!

The Ceremony

Your ceremony in three words. Warm, authentic, personal.

Who officiated your ceremony? How did you choose him/her? We had our two best friends officiate our ceremony: my best friend throughout my whole life, and our best friend from New York (where we spent most of our relationship). They both mean the world to us and we couldn't think of two better people to marry us.

How did you go about planning your ceremony? We had our two very best friends create a special, personal and memorable ceremony for us. They killed it!

What were your ceremony readings? We didn't have any readings but we had stories that our friends told about our relationship and love story.

What were your vows like? We wrote our own vows.

What was your ceremony music? We had the most amazing singer ( Katie Boeck) and a band during our ceremony. She sang Going to California by Led Zeppelin when Anthony and our families walked down the aisle, then I walked down the aisle to her signing Is this Love by Bob Marley. After the ceremony we played Walking on a Dream by Empire of the Sun!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding ceremony? The entire thing! It was such a beautiful setting and ceremony. It felt so personal to us, it was our favorite part of the wedding overall.

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of your wedding? We met when we were in college but fell out of touch, until many years later when I moved to NYC and needed some friends, haha! We immediately became best friends and hung out constantly. It was not until months later that we began dating. On one of those amazing NYC summer nights (there is truly nothing like them) we walked from Union Square across the Brooklyn Bridge and spent the whole night talking. It became a very special place and memory for us - it was only fitting that almost seven years later we got engaged in the same spot! Immediately following the proposal, Anthony surprised me with a champagne and oyster brunch at our favorite restaurant in Brooklyn (Marlow and Sons). All of our best friends were there waiting for us and we celebrated with them the rest of the day and long into the night.

What advice do you have for other couples in the midst of planning a wedding? I was very selective in picking the vendors we worked with. I work in events and to me those relationships are what truly brings an event from good to great! Our team could not have been more amazing.

The Reception

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? We wanted our wedding to have a warm and authentic feel. I drew inspiration from the warm color tones of our desert venue and the naturally beautiful light in Palm Springs. I have also always loved the banana leaf print at the Beverly Hills Hotel mixed with the iconic pink, so we used that as inspiration through out the wedding.

How would you describe your reception? Intimate and buzzing.

What was your favorite moment or part of the reception? We really loved our first dance. We danced to an upbeat song, Electric Feel by MGMT and all of our friends jumped in at the end and danced with us.

What was your father/daughter and mother/son dance? Tiny Dancer by Elton John.
