Mike proposed to Alexandra during their annual trip to the ultra-romantic Christmas Market in Toronto's Distillery District. " We were in line for hot chocolate when I noticed Mike getting nervous, which is very unusual for him. We were sharing a hot chocolate and people watching when he said, 'Let's take a short cut around this way.' He led me to a quiet corner of the market and got down on one knee. It was very romantic and a complete surprise!" Alexandra says.

For their wedding, the couple blended traditional, garden, romantic and vintage themes to create something both beautiful and intimate. " The colour scheme was white, blush, gold, neutrals and green. I love the look of greenery and garden-style flowers, which was seen throughout our decor," Alexandra explains.

A highlight of the night was the couple's first dance to the song "Love Someone" by Jason Mraz. "When we first heard it we knew instantly it would be our wedding song. It's upbeat and we could have fun with it. The lyrics also resonate, as we are best friends as well as husband and wife," Alexandra says.
