Collective members HoneyFitz Events and Heidi Ryder Photography are the powerhouse duo behind Emily and Nick's stunning LA wedding. The couple were married at the Saint Thomas the Apostle in Hollywood followed by a celebration at the Lombardi House. They enlisted dear friend, and talented florist, Lark Farnum Design to create ethereal tablescapes full of garden roses and greenery and a striking long-stem bouquet, filled with blush pink and cream-colored peonies carried by Emily who wowed in her lace-sleeved Claire Pettibone and fresh braided updo. We know you'll love the casually-elegant details as much as we do!

What made the wedding special and unique?

Getting married in the church I grew up going to all my life, St. Thomas the Apostle, in Hollywood. My husband's grandmother also happened to have gotten married there (which we found out only after we got engaged) and his mother attended preschool there. So there were many family connections to the church.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

My gown was Claire Pettibone, an LA based designer. One morning shortly after we got engaged, I happened to be online and saw that her flagship store on Beverly Blvd. was having their annual 3-day summer trunk show. I knew I would wear a long-sleeve gown, as my mother had in her 1977 wedding, and fell in love with the intricate lace details on the sleeves, train, and back of the dress-very romantic, ethereal, and bohemian-just the vibe I was going for!

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

Having our friends be an integral part of the wedding. My college roommate, Jena Carpenter, is an opera singer, and sang Ave Maria during our church ceremony. One of Nick's groomsmen, Matt Glaser, who owns the bar Wolf & Crane in Los Angeles, crafted our signature Bride & Groom's cocktails. He named the drinks after our dogs-Lucille and Bogart. Also, one of our oldest friends happens to be an amazing florist- Lark Farnum. She created the most ethereal tablescapes full of garden roses and greenery, as well as my bouquet, filled with blush pink and cream-colored peonies.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

Dancing the night away. I hardly ever left the dance floor for hours, and that's where I got to interact with most of my guests in the most relaxed, fun way. Also, both my father and husband's father gave terrific toasts.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

On the Saturday evening we got engaged, we had just settled in for what I thought would be an evening of Netflix & takeout. Instead, Nick suggested we go out to dinner, and that I pick the place. So I chose my favorite, a cozy little Italian restaurant in Los Feliz. After dinner, Nick pulled out the ring- I was so surprised. When we got back to our apartment, a group of our friends were waiting for us- Nick had chilled many bottles of champagne, unbeknownst to me, that day!
