A beautiful garland of greenery, intimate moments, sparkling lights and the golden light of the country all come together for this stunning romantic farm wedding of Anita and Nathan captured by Figtree Wedding Photography. If there was an event that is all about balmy Summer nights, then this is it!

Anita tells the story of how they met. "We met in high school in grade 8 in 2001! We were friends throughout school and then it was a year after school finished in 2006 that we started dating."

The bride chose Hanna Couture to create her gown, using lace from Alla Moda Fabric Collection. She tells, "I didn't want to have a traditional wedding gown and so I opted to have my dress made. I love understated elegance and pieces that have a little pop of sparkle! With this in mind, Mum and I went to Alla Moda in Brisbane and viewed their beautiful fabric collection. We found a stand out piece of embellished lace that we couldn't resist.

As I was living in Sydney at the time, Alla Moda recommended a fantastic dressmaker Hanna Kossowska of 'Hanna Couture' based in Sydney that would be a perfect fit. Over the next few months, Hanna created not only a dress but a work of art. Her attention to detail was phenomenal especially dealing with such intricate pieces of fabric! She also made my veil which was beautiful and classic."

The couple chose Holy Trinity Church Fortitude Valley for their wedding, Anita noting, "The ceremony was at the Holy Trinity Church in Fortitude Valley. We loved the slightly Gothic interior! It is a really beautiful church."

"I wanted the ceremony to be simple and happy. Living in Sydney meant that we didn't have a lot of preparation when it came to the ceremony and left it up to the Church. Unfortunately, the Priest had not been well so what happened on the day was a little 'ad lib!' It all worked out perfectly, and we even had a little entertainment when one of the groomsmen passed out mid ceremony (he was okay!). We wanted to involve people in our ceremony so had lovely speeches from Nathan's Aunty, my Aunty and one of Nathan's sisters."

Of their photographer, Anita notes, "We used Brendan & Renee from Figtree Wedding Photography. They were great, so willing to go out of their way to get the perfect shots - even when I had them driving around the property with me! "

The newlyweds chose Anita's family home for their reception, noting, "The Reception was held at my family home, just outside of Brisbane. The home is on acreage and from the beginning we could think of no better place to have our Wedding. It was really special being able to celebrate in such a familiar location that holds so many fond memories."

"I think that family was an important part of the wedding for us. I wanted to pay tribute to the parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents who had gotten us to where we are today. So we set up two bookshelves and placed wedding photos of each of our parents, grandparents and great grandparents. This was really special and a really nice addition so that people could see where we had come from."

"I had an idea in my head that I wanted to utilise the bushland for the styling purposes. The day before the wedding, some lovely girlfriends and family came over nice and early and spent hours with me collecting eucalyptus branches, filling up the tray of the ute and piecing them together bit by bit. It was amazing how tedious the job was but the girls were just amazing and never gave up (although there was a time that we thought it just wouldn't be finished in time!).

By late evening, all of the tables had beautiful natural handmade table runners down the middle (160 people = a lot of tables!). I had purchased bulk votive candles and placed these randomly down each table with little tea lights in amongst the eucalyptus. Mum purchased beautiful flowers from the markets that day and my Auntie created stunning arrangements which were then placed around the drinks area and reception. The pink proteas were amazing!

The day of the wedding, my mum, auntie and one of my besties spent the morning hand placing simple flowers amongst the eucalyptus to give it some extra volume. It was beautiful! Keeping it simple, we utilised the location and didn't feel the need to add too much styling. The location really spoke for itself!"

Tim Kinivan Events and Wine & Dine'm catered a feast for the guests, Anita telling " Wine & Dine'm were great and their food was delicious! Tim Kinivan Events - Tim managed the drinks and provided drinks staff for the entire wedding!! Having fantastic drinks service makes a big difference to everyone's night."

Of the first dance, Anita remembers, "We were both not too keen on a traditional first dance so we chose 'Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now - Starship.' Its a 1980's funky song which we encouraged everyone to jump in and dance to with us!"

The Smile Factory Film captured the move of the day, Anita noting, "The videographer was Tom from the Smile Factory Film. He was absolutely fantastic and caught all the really special moments from the day. I will definitely treasure his beautiful film forever! "
