We have such an awesome wedding to share with your eyes this morning. Captured by one of our favourite photographers, Enchanted Brides, Kim and Sam's wedding is full of happy smiles, DIY decor, bright colours, quirky style, unique ideas and of course some festival style entertainment. Their theme was quite simple - to create a day that stayed true to their personalities and individual styles.....

I have always thought that you should be able to take a bride and groom out of their wedding photographs and still be able to tell that is was their day. This helped us to choose everything from the décor and food. Bright, colourful, Cornish and happy.

If you are still looking for suppliers for your wedding, I would get your notebook ready as the companies Kim and Sam used all look and sound awesome. Kim also handmade all of the flower crowns, button holes and bouquets for herself and the bridal party as well as 80 individual corsages for each of their guests. She did such a good job that people started to contact her with orders and she has now launched her own business: Kim's Crafty Couture. She is one very talented lady.

Look out of the dutch organ, the dinosaur and dalek cake toppers and the unique bespoke wedding rings made by Justin Duance.

For the favours, each guest had an RNLI badge, with a donation made to this important charity on their behalf, and the most delicious bag of homemade fudge made by my mum Wendy.

Kim and Sam tell us all about their fabulous Cornish wedding.

We got engaged in New York on Christmas Day in 2013 under the Rockefeller Christmas Tree. Sam had spent years saying he didn't ever want to get married. So when we went on holiday over Christmas to celebrate our 5 year anniversary he spent the whole flight talking about how he would never get married because it was stupid and soppy. When it came to Christmas Day, after a full day of romantic excursions we queued to have our photo taken under the Christmas Tree at the Rockefeller Building by the professional photographer. Sam was very nervous and kept checking his pockets. Then after two photos had been taken he bent down on one knee. It was a complete surprise - I didn't even let him actually 'ask'. I just shouted 'Are you kidding?' Then 'Yes' He said it was a relief that he didn't have to look after the ring any more. He had been keeping it inside the foam of a whoopie cushion in his pocket for the whole trip!!!

I was keen to not pin down a theme for the wedding and for the first year of planning it was a complete collection of things that I liked including, homemade craft, glitter, rainbows, festivals, Doctor Who, wildflowers vintage china and Cornwall. As the day drew closer this be came refined as crafty, multicoloured flowers. Anything we could collect or make ourselves, we did, including mine and the bridesmaids bouquets, our flower crowns and hair pieces, all of the ties for the groomsmen, all of the vintage embroidered table clothes, the button holes, 100 old bottles, giant circus letters, vintage teacups for flowers, the programmes, Dalek and dinosaur cake toppers, 100 origami cranes and things like callsheets for the guests staying on site. I was thrilled with the result. Everything tied together so perfectly.

Our wedding ceremony and reception were both held and the gorgeous luxury resort, Gwel an Mor in Portreath in Cornwall.

We had a very specific hit list of things we required at the venue, including needing to be in Cornwall as that's were I am from and were we met, it needed to be near a beach so Sam could have a morning surf, it needed to have character yet be informal and it needed to have lots of accommodation nearby for our family and friends, so they could join us for a weekend of celebrations. Sam had converted our van into a multicoloured surf and festival van to take to festivals and camping so we were keen that we could bring this vibe to the day as well.

After a year of searching for a venue, we had nearly given up when mum suggested we visited a Christmas Fayre at Gwel an Mor and I instantly fell in love it. Gwel an Mor is a luxury holiday park on a cliff top with a Yurt for ceremonies and a Barn for receptions. There are lots of log cabins on site for guests to stay in, with hot tubs and log burners and it is just a 5 min walk from Portreath beach. It was the perfect mix of chilled out hippyness and luxury.

They have had a change of staff since we first booked in 2014 and I must say they are fantastic!! Leanne is at the helm and her team of Lisa, Tash and Nina were brilliant with helping set up the days before.

We were keen for there to be campsites nearby so our lovely guests could camp if the log cabins weren't for them. This was perfect with Tehidy Holiday Park and woods just down the road from our venue.

After the ceremony, the gorgeous yurt turned into a chill out zone with our record player and a selection of our favourite records, with a log burner and cosy sofas in the evening.

We decided to have our rings made bespoke from jeweller Justin D down in Penzance. I saw an interview with him originally a couple of years ago in a Cornish magazine and fell in love with his unique designs. We met with him and his wonderful team a couple of times and the result was two very personal wedding bands. Sam's ring was a titanium band with a wooden inlay and the wood was from a fallen branch from the woods at Gwel an Mor. Mine was a thin gold band shaped in a wave with a row on multicoloured precious stones running around it in a channel setting. My ring was cast in sand from Gyllingvase beach in Falmouth where we met.

Sam brought his outfit from Moss Bros about 18 months before the wedding. He wore an amazing bright blue 3 piece suit with pearl buttons. He looked very handsome.

The groomsmen, Matt and Ben and usher Mark all wore light blue suits from Moss Bros and both our dads wore a dark blue suit from Moss Bros as well. They all looked really smart in varying blue colours. To in keep with our Cornish theme we also hired the complete Cornish kilt outfit too for one of Sams groomsen, Teudor to wear, and at 6 foot 8, he looked brilliant! For their ties I couldn't find any I liked and like most of the other details I knew I could make them myself. I managed to find the exact same Cath Kidsten fabric that the bridesmaids dresses were made out of on ebay and spent a day making 8 ties and 2 mini bow ties for all of the boys. It was well worth it! They looked great.

I was very indecisive over dresses. As I am a bargain hunter at heart I was keen to not spend the earth for a dress. At one point I had 4 dresses and but ended up with 2 perfect dresses. The first dress I wore gorgeous Phoenix dress, style Audrey from Bridal Sweet in St Blazey in Cornwall. On the hanger I wasn't that sold, but mum wanted me to try it on just to see. As soon as I had put it on I loved it. It was simple and classic with a vintage twist and worked perfectly for me as I wanted to have very bright and colourful accessories. It was very fitted on the top and on the waist and sat just above the floor. I had most of the layers taken out from underneath to make it a tad more streamlined and modern and once I put it on on the morning of the wedding it looked perfect. I ended up changing in the evening into the jazzy Jenny Peckham. As a glitter and sequin lover - it was perfect for dancing the night away.

The bridesmaids and my shoes were from Schuh in their sale. They were a bargain at £9.99 each - bright red court shoes with big red hearts on the toes.

I added giant sequin motifs onto the back of mine and my bridesmaid Jodie added cute I Do stickers on the bottom of either shoe.

With my hair I wanted it half up and half down and filled with flowers. After having a look around I decided to make my own flower crown out of silk flowers so that I could keep it. For my hairstyle practiced with lots of techniques from youtube videos and plumped for a plaited crown for the flower crown to rest on with soft waves for the rest of my hair.

I really didn't want to wear a veil but when I put it in my hair on the wedding morning, it looked great, so I am pleased that I did. It was a simple shoulder length veil with a trim that matched the dress.

My something old was a brooch from my friend Aimee's granny added into my bouquet, my something new was my flower crown, my something borrowed was a pearl necklace my mum got given on her first wedding anniversary from my dad and my something blue was a beautiful blue crystal charm from my friend Jodie.

I had a very clear vision of what I wanted for the bridesmaid dresses. I wanted them to be comfortable and quite informal, I wanted lots of big flowers (obviously) and maybe a slight vintage style. My bridesmaids, 3 wonderful friends, Aimee, Jodie and Emmie and super amazing cousin Rose were all super laid back about what they wanted so when I spotted the dresses on the Cath Kidston website I knew they were perfect! They were knee length with an empire line and they had pockets too which was a lovely touch.

The bridesmaids carried silk bouquets which I made months in advance and had silk flower hair pieces I had made to match.

The Page boys and Flower girls were Sam's niece Rosie and nephew's Dylan and Isaac. Rosie looked very cute in a gold glitterey dress from Monsoon and I made her a flower crown to match mine. And the boys were very dapper in cream chinos and blue braces

The ceremony was held in the bohemian yurt, which we decorated with multicoloured flowers, hanging hearts, and 100 multi coloured origami cranes (for good luck). We hired a large arch to act as the top of the alter and I covered this in colourful silk flowers to match the rest of the decorations. Every gold chair had embroidered lace and a silk flower attached.

We chose to for all the guests to sing along in the ceremony and this worked beautifully! We had made little orders of service which, as well as featuring a who's who and a crossword about me and Sam had the lyrics for both of the songs printed inside to jog peoples memorys. First everyone sang, It Must Be Love by Madness and then I'm a Believer by the Monkees. It was so brilliant, everyone was laughing, dancing and singing.

My friend and bridesmaid Jodie gave a gorgeous reading of He Never Leaves The Seat Up by Pam Ayres which had everyone in tears

We signed the register to All I want is you by Barry Louis Polisar and My Girl by The Temptations and walked down the aisle as husband and wife to Come and get your love by Red Bone

We celebrated with pink perry, multi coloured confetti and ice cream.

As I love flowers and the theme was multicoloured flowers it may seem odd but I decided against having a florist. I knew I wanted to have a brooch bouquet and had been collecting the brooches for years and I wanted the bridesmaids to have silk flower and brooch bouquets as well! I made them all well in advance so they looked exactly as I wanted, I also made flower girl Rosie a mini brooch bouquet to carry.

I was keen for every guest to feel party of the wedding party so my mother-in-law and I, made 80 corsages so each guest could have one, they were handed out by 5 year old Dylan on day with some help from twin brother and usher, Mark as the guests entered the Yurt. We also made all of the large corsages for all of the men in the wedding party.

Despite having silk flowers everywhere including around the arch, the back of the chairs and in the centerpieces, I still wanted to have real fresh flowers on the day.

My mum was put in charge of getting the flowers (among a million other tasks). After we looked in all the super markets, we found a beautiful bouquet in Sainsburys called Evies Meadow, it was filled with beautiful flowers like pink roses and daisy and stocks. We added some gypsophila, more scented stocks and flowers from some family members gardens. We had a beautiful range of wild looking flowers. Mum spent all night before filing teacups with the flowers for the table and with the help of Sam's sisters we got all the rest of the flowers into the 100 bottles that Sam and I have been collecting. The effect was perfect. Mum had done a fantastic job

Sam studied photography at University and has had his worked published so It was important to him that we found a photographer that was able to capture the day rather than just take photographs. We were recommended lots of photographers by friends and family but I had seen Jo's photos on a blog and knew I had to have someone like her, but assumed she was based really far away. It wasn't until after a few months of looking around I decided to look on her website that I realised she was from Cornwall and I was so over the moon! We met with Jo in early 2015 and realised that we went to the same university and we clicked right away. She had the exact same vision as us and her photos are second to none! I couldn't believe how lucky we were to book our dream photographer and they final photos are absolutely stunning. She went above and beyond to get the best shots and you don't even realise she is there most of the time. They are honestly exquisite photographs, we are so lucky to have been able to book her. She went above and beyond including standing a step ladder on a table, to get a shot!

The reception then took place in the barn which was directly next to the yurt. It is beautiful decorated with chandeliers and sashes to create a soft romantic look. We decorated the barn and courtyard with miles of coloruful bunting loving handmade by my wonderfully artistic mum. We added thousands of fairy lights, and giant pink and gold letters which were made by my talented father-in law. We also had a cake table and sweet table designed my by mum with the theme of seaside for the sweets and New York for the cake table.

I love cake, I would say it is my favourite food, so the cake was very important to me. We were messed around by the first cake shop we booked, so after a trawl on Facebook, Sam found The Cake Hole in Redruth, which is right near to our venue. We went along to meet them one afternoon and in that one meeting, with our vague description of what we wanted they designed the most wonderful cake! It was three tiers of rainbow vanilla cake. The bottom tier was covered in multicoloured hundreds and thousands, the middle tier was plain white and the top tier was draped in sugar flowers.

We made our only cake toppers with a white bridal Dalek for me (the Doctor Who fan) and a dinosaur in a top hat for Sam (the Jurassic park fan). Both sat underneath colourful bunting.

After the ceremony the wildlife farm was open to the guests for them to see lots of animals and pet some too. This is on site at Gwel an Mor and we were able to have some photographs with Chunk the owl.

For the entertainment during the day we hire the fantastic Dutch street organ which is owned by James Dundon. It plays a mixture of traditional and current music through authentic pipe organ. It is so colourful and pretty and our guests were so amazed with it! I would highly recommend James and his Organ. He played before the ceremony, during the drinks reception and in the evening after dinners. It was brilliant!

In the evening we had the Plastic Pantomime, who are and indie rock band who alternate their live sets with dj sets. They were brilliant! The dance floor was packed all night! There was about 60vpeople still dancing when they finished and turned the lights on. Rather than just being a band - they really were the whole package. The lead singer is a showman, engaging with the crowd and blowing the roof of with amazing renditions of rock songs! They made the evening!

During our welcome drinks we hired an Ice Cream Bike from the wonderful Cornwall Entertainment they served delicious Callestick Farm ice cream in gorgeous flavours, including Apple Pie and Strawberry and Cream flavour.

For our wedding breakfast we had a delightful afternoon tea with, sandwiches filled with; Cornish cheese and chutney, ham and mustard and chicken and pesto. Four types of cake, including carrot cake, treacle tart, brownies and a strawberry topped meringue and of course scones - the Cornish way! Followed by a cheese board of Cornish cheeses and bottle of port on each table - this went down very well with our guests!

Our evening buffet consisted of Pasties and sweet potato chips. It was delicious and the perfect thing for 100 hungry guests. Followed by a double chocolate fountain from Absolute Chocolate.

One of Sam's wedding gifts to me was to hire the most beautiful vintage china for the wedding breakfast. It was exquisite and so striking, there was fine china plates, and cups and saucers, and teapots, and milk jugs and cutlery all from the nicest lady at Creative Crockery.

My favourite moment for me was how I couldn't stop smilling all day. From me having breakfast with my mum and dad and spending the morning with the girls drinking tea in the hot tub and Sam surfing with his Dad, to walking down to the yurt with my dad with a car convoy of strangers behind us on the road. Seeing at the top of the atler in the yurt. Signing with all of our guests. Reading our vows that we wrote ourselves, dancing to the amazing music organ. Our Mums being our witnesses, seeing all the people we loved in one place, having port shots with my Sam and our uni friends, Dancing with my dad, eating pastys, seeing everyone using the blankets my embroided with the wedding date and of course, ending the night by chilling out in our hot tub.

Sams favourite moments included, spending the night before with his friends and dad in the pub, surfing in the morning, us escaping to the beach in the afternoon, the music organ, the port and the pastys.

All evening was then spent dancing and singing with a room full of colourful love and happiness, At midnight we ended the singing and dancing with a rendition of Take That - Never Forget. Which was the same song coincidentally played at the celebration after our graduation so it felt like a complete circle of the journey we have began.

At the end of the night Sam had the wonderful idea to stand outside the barn so we were able to hug and personally thank everyone for coming as they left. It was such a nice way to end the evening, seeing all of our loved one and telling them how much it meant to us that they all came to celebrate with us. After heading back to the lodges with my family we finished the evening with a glass of champagne in our hot tub in the lodge. It was just perfect.

Having a homemade wedding was really important to us. I am pleased that I was able to make everything I could and I would say to future crafty brides and grooms to definitely start as early as you can, I started the making the bouquets a year before and my mum was making bunting and trialing fudge 2 years in advance.

I was so pleased with the final result of all of the years of hard work of crafting and collecting. All the guests said they had never been to such a colourful and personalized wedding before. I was so keen to involve all the guest on the day and make sure everyone felt included and I really think they did. We wrote a little crossword with questions about me and Sam on the back of the programme and this was a great way to get people talking. Then the singing during the ceremony really set the tone for the day!

My favourite phrase is, 'Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end' and this was so true with wedding planning. When we were let down by some suppliers I was so upset, but the people we found to replace them, were even better, as if it were meant to be.

I would also recommend that on the day itself realise that not mater how much of a control freak you have been (I was extreme), things might not go to plan, of things might get forgotten, but it doesn't matter. You are they to marry the love of your life, everything else is a lovely accessory.
