Charming wedding in Auvergne France

We are off to one of the quieter areas of France for destination weddings, located in the centre just to the South West of Burgundy, for a beautiful and charming wedding in Auvergne France. The French wedding of Celine and Fabrice, was set in the heart of the beautiful Auvergne countryside and comprised of the traditional civil ceremony at the Mairie's and then a church wedding.

Celine takes us through their story and big day: " I always had in a place of my head the desire to get married. It remained to find THE good person to realize this girl's dream. It was thing made 5 years ago when our lives met with Fabrice. We had this common envy to unite. And it became really concrete when he made me his proposal in August, 2013, after a romantic dinner in The villa Eugénie in Biarritz, by the sea with a magnificent engagement ring.

We wanted a beautiful and elegant but not formal wedding, a good friendly atmosphere and to offer to all people that we like beautiful memories. Being fascinated by decoration, I knew enough exactly what I wanted: a decoration style that encompassed"charms", romantic, touches of vintage and antiques, pastels and powdered colours, with hand-made things ... We had to find the good venue in keep with this style of decoration. We wanted a beautiful older venue with old stones, surrounded by nature and full of spirit and charm. It also needed to have rooms for accommodation so that our family and close relations could stay.

We planned to visit about 10 places. We began with the castle of féligonde to Sayat, and it was the immediate love for both of us. We felt spellbound by this magic place which all met all of our criteria. We had found the place of our dreams to celebrate our marriage. It was now necessary to find THE dress!! I liked very much the brand Pronovias. I wanted a lace dress, for highly-rated romantic, and ideally with a sheer back. After several fittings with one of my witnesses, in the shop Pronovias in Paris, I had found the dress of my dreams. Some tears and some glasses of champagne followed in the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris.

During all this year, I spent a lot of time to prepare all the small details of this day, by making everything by myself, helped by my mom, Fabrice's mother and my friends. I adored organizing all this, looking for ideas on blogs, exchanging with other brides, preparing all the hand-made elements of my decoration. The D-day we are all to prepare for the castle, Fabrice on one side with his witnesses and I of an other one with my witnesses. During the preparation when I was getting into my dress, there were some tears with my friends.

Following the ceremony in the city hall we then had a ceremony in a local church. Again some tears by listening to the speeches very moving of our witnesses, but also big smiles by listening to our Gospel singer which illuminated the church with enjoy. We got back to the castle in our beautiful vintage car. The apéritif was very pleasant in the park of the castle, and guests enjoyed the beautiful sunlight.

We continued the evening celebrations with an excellent dinner, and many surprises of our witnesses, we still cry laughing by thinking again about it. We opened the main evening celebrations by dancing an Argentine tango on the music of Yann Tiersen " bed song of another summer ". The atmosphere was festive and friendly, as we had hoped for it. We danced until the early hours. We ended the night as newlyweds, stars in our eyes and full of love.
